Excerpt of a Life (poem)
Date Posted: 2005-10-18
She stood there
psoriac hatred burning inside of her
wounds deeper and deeper
till healing could no longer keep up
and gushing like blood
the last thoughts of hope spewed forth
and there was nothing left
and we few stood by idly
disgracefully watching this decomposition
thinking all the while in the back of our minds
"at least that is not me
at least I have some hope, some dignity"
and never once did we think to kneel down
never did we stop to help
we walk away proud we didn't fall
proud...like we did something
but we did nothing
we few stood by idly
